Yeah, any of the Wildside Megapacks fits your description.

I'll often read authors I'm not familiar with either old PD titles or cheap books from Charity Shops (money goes to poor, animal welfare or Africa, or disability, or domestic violence shelters depending on the shop. Oxfam though charges nearly as much a supermarket discount, they want rich shoppers. But I support local charities)

I miss my Kobo. I am patiently (mostly) waiting to see if the Libra 2 will be put on sale for Black Friday/Boxing Day before buying one to replace my late, lamented Aura H2O v1.

I would either place it under the author folder which is primary to me (general practice is treating the editor as the author), or I would put it in an anthology folder. Also I would put anthology in the filename. I can do a search on all of the above. I don't read that many anthologies, so it's not an issue.

I would have to check, but I presume I could do a filename search on multiple terms. .i.e. Benford Futures Anthology.

I might also be able to search for the author name inside the book, though again, I have never tried. But I don't have 20,000 books on my ereader, which I admit would make it chug a bit.

On a side note, I use an Onyx, which does not use a DB like Kobo to index books. I'm not sure of the best approach, or what the Kobo DB does, or if it is worth it.

How would you organize this book? How would you make it possible to find the book based on all 26 authors in the anthology?

I would simply send the book to my Kobo with a filename consisting of the title followed by the first author. My Kobo will read the metadata from the epub and populate the authors list in the database from there. At that point, I can search on any of the 26 authors and the book will be found. Since it is a live search, depending on the author name, it often does not take that many characters before the name pops up.

For what it's worth, the content.opf contains the following for title/series/author information:

Code:

I too, am a recent Kobo convert. I bought my first Kindle in 2010, the one with the keypad. Since then i have had several, the voyage, the oasis 2. But I am finding the Kobo Libre 2 the best ereader that I have used. I love not having to deal with sorting the files on the device. I am still learning about it, but I am sure I am going to love it. Just wish there was more cover choices.

I have an issue with books that I have added to my libre 2 via Calibre. There is a very annoying space between the ' and the next letter. There doesn't seem to be a lot of choices for models in Calibre for the Kobo. Is anyone else having this issue? I am mainly using original epubs.

Interesting. So the epub tags are stored as a form of XML in the opf file. I must pull apart the epub format sometime.

However, the approach you use depends on the publisher of the epub adding all the author names to the epub in the first place. (I wonder how they do that?) Are there many cases where a publisher will not add the multiple author names to the epub anthology accurately, if at all...

Check out third-party sleep covers, such as the ones from kwmobile. The official sleep covers are overpriced, anyway.

Most publishers do include all the authors though they will sometimes add the editor(s) to the author list—the list I included was direct from the ebook.

If you use calibre to download metadata, it will overwrite the list in the opf file with the downloaded one when you send the epub to a device or save to disk. You can modify this list in calibre's Edit metadata. As an alternate, if you are already editing the ebook to correct other errors, you can also use Sigil or calibre's editor to do some manual metadata editing.

See EPUB Packages 3.2 for more information on the opf file.
