Have you tried LRFTools?
I think it does a good job with epub, and maybe you'll be satisfied with its HTML conversion... In this case, I suppose it's not hard to encapsulate it in a python script to be used from Calibre... ![]() |

Ok, so this thread has probably gone the way of dinosaurs, but...
Any chance you'll consider pdf (with the ability to set custom "paper size")? Although restrictive, it's a fairly universal format, one that's supported (I think) by every ebook reader available and will likely be supported by all future ebook readers. I know there are already a lot of tools available for pdf conversion, but a lot of them won't let you set the paper size or do not respect formatting. Those that do require you to set up a programming environment or something similar. I read ebooks on my PSP (using Bookr) and the only format it supports is txt or pdf. Currently, I explode ebooks, open the html file in Firefox and use CutePDF to print to pdf files. So far, that's the only method I've found that lets me use custom dimensions and retain formatting. Pretty impractical for a large collection, though. I believe dompdf (PHP/Java?) and pisa (Python) would be good starting points. Unless, of course, I'm being totally obtuse and this functionality is already present in Calibre. Last edited by ilovejedd; 01-21-2009 at 01:22 AM. |

![]() I'll certainly consider it. When I'm ready to tackle another output format, I'll do another poll and include PDF as an option, at least. |
