I have proof. IN the same thread I posted screen caps from a PW3 and my H2O using fairly recent firmware versions and the Kobo definitely dithers better.

It's not my opinion. You pointed out one Kobo vs Kindle dithering and I pointed out the another. Both show Kobo better then Kindle.

I've not read of others who find the dithering of a Kobo to be distracting. If this is so, can you please point out the threads that mention this?

Those images look like they have compression artifacts? And if you are trying to "prove" you are correct, shouldn't you compare similar size readers, and do direct screen captures?

I cannot do that. I don't have a Kobo with a 6" screen. And Amazon does not have a Reader with a 6.8" screen.

Jon, you can't argue anything based on the picture you posted. It is a screenshot from a Youtube video of two different ereaders displaying different editions of a manga. Add to that the Kindle is showing some sort of extra image on top of it (near the bottom in the centre) that could affect the image and that the lighting is uneven (clearly more glare/reflection off the left side of the Kindle), and it isn't a valid comparison.
