I'm seeing it in on Linux as well as Windows (though I probably wouldn't have ever noticed if not for the detailed descriptions). I've found that it's much easier to notice if you make the Sigil window (including Preview) quite a bit smaller. It's much more likely under those conditions that you'll see a word highlighted in Code View that is still off the screen in Preview when switching to a new xhtml file.

Thanks anyway. I have thought of two different ways to possibly handle this case. One is to overwrite the storage location and the second is to check if preview is fully loaded. So Let me try something and push it and when you get a chance, please test it.
Thanks! Last edited by KevinH; 06-05-2021 at 08:49 PM. |

Okay, I have pushed the simplest hopeful fix to master that should not slow things down.
Please give it a try and let me know if it fixes things. If not, we will simply check if preview is visible and if so wait in an event loop until Preview is done updating the page. That said, I hope this change fixes things as it is simpler and faster. Last edited by KevinH; 06-05-2021 at 08:50 PM. |

Pushed minor clean-up to master. No functional changes, just removing unused member variable.

Wow, the performance is great. I just loaded in an enormous single-html-file monstrosity and it was just about as snappy as a "normal" epub. Thanks as always for all the hard work, the fantastic software is really indispensable.

Have a major issue, here. In simple words, after updating to Sigil 1.6.0 the program doesn't open. Click on the icon, the sigil window starts appearing, the screen goes all white, then black and... back to windows desktop.
Tried to uninstall and clean the registry, but it didn't help. Any suggestions? EDIT: just noticed that I can't even open epubs with Calibre internal viewer... (help) Last edited by trinity1; 06-08-2021 at 04:01 PM. |

Video driver too old? Also Sigil does not use the registry. It has its own sigil.ini. You can try renaming that and Sigil will recreate it with basic settings.
My guess is since neither Calibre or Sigil will start, you have video card issues and should try updating to the latest driver. You might have Anti-Virus or Defender software interfering as well. Last edited by KevinH; 06-08-2021 at 08:34 PM. |

![]() BTW the update which solved the issue (most probably created by a previous Windows update...) is KB5003637. |

As it turns out from reading the docs on that update, it is correcting some video/ graphics driver bugs that they introduced previously.

I'm finding that my Ctrl+1-7 short cuts for Headings and normal text are not working after my new border lines.
<hr class="new1"/> Any ideas } /* Gold Rod Border */ hr.new1 { margin-top: 2.0em; border: 1.25px solid #DAA520; margin-bottom: 2.0em; } Thanks Brent |

The css has nothing to do with it, but other than that, he's right
I have no idea why, but none of the heading keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+1-7) do anything when the cursor is placed after, or below an hr tag. They all work as expected above the hr tag. Self-closing br and img tags don't seem to affect it. Only hr tags. EDIT: OK. It doesn't appear to have anything at all to do with keyboard shortcuts. The items in the Heading toolbar just don't function under the above conditions. Last edited by DiapDealer; 06-10-2021 at 12:03 PM. |
