Perhaps Amazon rolled back, maybe I downloaded the wrong thing, but it's unlikely ... And the latest version is still, judging by the date, 1.020

Yes, it's not difficult, a couple of minutes. It took more time to find out which firmware is the latest. If I didn't get it wrong ...

From when I downloaded 5.13.5 and unpacked the fonts.sqsh, the copy of Bookerly in there shows the same file size and dates as in your attached image. However when I open the file and look at the version, it shows as 1.201 either in Windows Font Viewer or FontForge. See attached images.

Edit: I had to go back to 2017-Feb-26 to get a version that showed 1.020 as the version. see attached images #3 and #4.

Just to be crystal clear, is the unhinted 1.201 superior on Kobo 300 PPI devices (reading with Nickel, bad Bookerly rendering with KOReader) AND inferior on Kindle (because of poor handling, at the opposite of RMSDK treatment) ?

EDIT : and if anyone has you guess what in 1.201 version, I know somebody interested in testing it...

No problem with ChareInk (I've tried both versions, hinted and unhinted).
