I dont know. On Pocketbook I use only online library's/seller, so do not need local Calibre manager like in Kobo... In Poland we have 2 big "library" in subscription models, for 5-10 Euro monthly (depended of plan) I have literally hundreds of thousand professionally converted books.

Well, I prefer to manage my books with Calibre and Kobo is better for that. I don't like to read borrowed books. So to each their own. By the way, the Libra and the Forma both have physical buttons.

So no, Pocketbook is not "miles away" from Kobo. For your use case, perhaps, but not in the general sense.

I will not change my mind in any direction. I closely tested both devices and this is huge difference between this products. Kobo is still mentally in year 2010, Pocketbook is on software, hardware and user quality in 2020. And thats all.

You tested them only as far as your needs went. You yourself admitted you don't know how Pocketbook works with Calibre. That Pocketbook is better for YOU doesn't necessarily make it a better device for everyone else.

The biggest software advantage of Pocketbook over Kobo is that Pocketbook is using RMSDK 11.x while Kobo is using RMSDK 10.0.

The one other advantage Pocketbook has is a 10.3" screen for PDF.

I haven't tested the quick-page flip on the Pocketbook for epub3 books yet. Does it work well?

I took a look at my 6 years old Booken system info and found out it also uses RMSDK 10.0, it has rapid page turning and Kobo doesn't despite using same RMSDK version, so based on that and replies here, even if Kobo update RMSDK to version 11, i dont think they will add more features to it.

Only Inkpad X has 10.3" screen.

Just like only the Kobo Forma has an 8" screen. No other Reader has one.

He probably meant it's only Kobo reader with 8" screen, same as i meant Inkpad X is only Pocketbook reader with 10.3" screen.

Compared with my Aura One my PB Color is slower, it can't allow to set the sharpness of the font and its Italian dictionary is a useless Wikictionary. And Kobo allows many more choices about margins, font sizes and line height, especially if patched but also without patches.

Of course Pocketbook has also some advantages: the possibility of downloading ACSM files without using ADE and, if compared with Kepub reading engine, a much better typography.

I don't want to do an in-depth examination, I just said the first things that came to my mind.

Agree about everything, especially about the Kobo being faster, my Libra is faster than Inkpad 3 even though Inkpad 3 has dual core CPU and double amount of RAM.

Funny thing is, they were almost the same performance wise before Inkpad 3 updated to firmware 6.x, so i think they messed up something in new updates.
