There are linguistic quirks around here that have come pretty damn close to driving me over the edge ... completely destroying the one tenuous shred of sanity I have left.

My current least favorite is when someone is recommending a painter/plumber/mechanic ... you name it ... to me, and they finish off the description by saying he's a "good Christian." Really?? I really don't give a teensie weensie gnat's ass about his religious affiliation. I just want to know if he's competent at what he does for a living.

I would gladly listen to all the "eh"s and "innit"s in the history of man if I never had to hear the phrase "good Christian" again.

no, i know what it means, it just doesn't make sense to use it the way it's used. people use it when they're not even asking a question. or sometimes when they are asking a question, but the correct form would be "doesn't it ?" or something. it's just nonsense.
