Since it is already here on a Kindle? Admitedly, that was an author/publisher doing stupid things in the CSS. See attached image. It was nice that the horizontal rule at the top of the screen and the text in the footer was not affected.

I will admit that I have added the CSS from this particular book to my collection of memorable examples of how not to use CSS. If nothing else, any style sheet where !important comes close to outnumbering the number of classes is going to end badly.

Kobo can market it as an exclusive feature!

A bit difficult to claim exclusive when Amazon already this "feature".

Truth! As a bonus, it made it so fast to read the pages.

Since there was some discussion earlier, here's a Clara review where he spends a minute or less comparing night mode on Kobo and Kindle, side-by-side. Dark mode starts at 6:30

Somebody might want to leave a comment telling him about sideload mode. He complains at 6:40 that a Kobo account is required for setup and that you can't use the e-reader without Wi-Fi, which isn't true.

The only time I turn on WiFi (other then to register) is to update KoReader.

I don't really care about that. I just wanted to show a comparison of dark mode on Kobo and Kindle, since not everyone seems to be aware of the differences.

If you are using NickelMenu, you can use the following to toggle the inverted mode. Note that you need to reboot after toggling for the setting to take effect (the second line takes care of that). Change the main to where you want to see this item (main/home, library, whatever.)

menu_item :main : Invert & Reboot : nickel_setting :toggle: invert
chain_success : power : reboot

That's why I used NickelMenu so I don't forget. OTOH, when reading a book at night, I generally use Dark Mode so the images aren't inverted.
