Even better, try searching for "Orson Scott Card" and get 10 results, then try clicking on the author's name on any one of those results and get only six books.

The last time I tried that exercise, it was only showing one, I think they must still be revamping their database.

They are very busy revamping their database ...
They have been revamping their database like busy bees ever since they opened the site. And look what good it did for them.
At the beginning I mailed Sony Ebook Support Team about the problem with "The color of magic" by Terry Pratchett. It was impossible to look up the book using search, yet when you clicked on Terry Pratchett you got the book. I have received a nice reply and the book suddenly appeared only to disappear for good a few days later.

Come on. How difficult it is to get a simple database of several thousand records in less then a dozen related tables work correctly <SHAKES HEAD HOPELESSLY>

And do not get me started on the graphics, usability and lack of adherence to UI standards in their ... aehm ... Somy Library or on their site.

The 10 results for "Orson Scott Card" include the six books that are by him plus 4 books that have his name in the book's Overview (e.g., "...in the tradition of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game.")

Hilarious...
Actually, if you search on Ember or ember now you get 21 hits including all 4 by Jeanne DuPrau. And if you search on jeanne duprau or Jeanne DuPrau you get the same hits - all four of her books.

I don't know if they've made changes or not but right now their search routine doesn't appear to be so outrageous. But it does irritate me greatly that they've (probably intentionally) made it more difficult to determine how many books they have for sale. That's a work in progress for me.

Well, there are issues with their database. I was curious about the rather dramatic increase in the number of titles under the category Manga and Graphic Novels (82, up from 26 two weeks ago). A quick look and you can see that a lot of the titles listed are miscategorized. For example, the one and only ebook (not graphic) they have of Dragonflight is listed there. And so are almost a dozen Sony Classics (you know, the unillustrated text files that they probably got from Project Gutenberg ) I can't wait for their first customer who buys one of these and complains that there's not even one illustration in these "graphic" novels.
