I hope so anyway. I would like to see both in the Walmart's in the US.
It's possible they won't stock the larger Kobo devices in stores but have them available to be ordered from their website. But who knows?

I haven't checked their website, but all I see in my local store is the basic iPad and cheaper Samsung tablet offerings. Nothing of the better Samsung tablets or iPad Pros. Which, admittedly, probably wouldn't sell well in this area.

My local Walmart has the Lenovo Tab4, but not the nicer Tab4 Plus. They have the cheaper Samsung Galaxy Tab E, but not the Tab S.

The iPad is the exception to the rule and Kobo isn't Apple.
Must be regional then, because the Walmart's here have a better selection of phones & tablets than Staples. The last time I looked they had the latest ipad's and Samsung Tablets, phones as well. They also had a nice selection of less expensive brands. Also more online than available in stores.

Even if they don't have all the Kobo's in Walmart stores, I hope they will have more online too.

Maybe. I live in a high end area, but my experience with electronics at Walmart is closer to graycyn's. Lower-end iPads and other tablets. Nothing to compete with Best Buy.

I would assume that will happen.

Sure. But if you can see Kobo dropping the price of the Aura 2e, I can see Amazon countering by dropping the price (or having sales) of the PW if they saw a significant drop in sales.

And again, Amazon can just advertise how much cheaper the entry level Kindle is.

Anything is possible to see when donning the great Carnac turban.

But I don't see Amazon being worried about Kobo's pricing schemes. And why would they want to price match to the Aura 2 when the Clara is closer in specs to the Paperwhite in the first place? The Clara doesn't offer much new. I see it as correcting the mistake they made with the crummy Aura Edition 2.

And, in the end, I hope Kobo finds success selling at Walmart. But I seriously doubt they'll make a dent in Amazon's sales.

I do also. I'd like to see Kobos in B&Ms (without having to hunt for them).

I can see Amazon keeping an eye on Kobo's pricing.

Going back a few posts, if they lower the price of the Aura 2 and it starts eating into Amazon Kindle sales, I can see Amazon not wanting Kobo to get a larger foothold in the (U.S.) ereader market.

The Aura 2 is a poor competitor to the Paperwhite. Amazon price-matching to a cheaper Aura 2 would be like Honda price-matching the Accord to the Toyota Tercel. They're in different classes.

In my mind, the Aura 2 most closely matches the basic Kindle, the Clara matches the Paperwhite and the H2O and One match the Voyage and the Oasis.

Who knows, maybe Kobo won't drop the price of the Aura 2. But if they expect to keep selling it for $10 less than the Clara, well, good luck with that. I hope they have lots of warehouse space.

My town is smaller, it's also a rural area and not wealthy. I assume they figure they won't have all that many sales of the higher end goods, but they could be wrong.

We're in a rural area also, but the Walmart store is new to us. We had them in other parts of the state but none in N.E. CT. This one was built just about 3 years ago. Maybe that's why they have a better selection. Hope it stays that way.

June is also the month the HP Chromebook X2 tablet is being released. June could be an expensive month for me.

That's the way I see it. Either the Aura 2 will go down in price or it will go away. I don't see why anyone wouldn't pay the extra $10 for the Glo HD.
