Simply adding ../Styles/ to the stylesheet link worked for me.

Don't know why we're being so rude about the code? A simple 'Mend & prettyfy' worked well enough here.

Because when the ePub needs to be edited, the sloppier the code, the harder it is to do this. Also, the sloppier the code the more chance of something going wrong for someone reading it.

It's not his code; we're not insulting the OP, AFAIK. The topic is that Notjohn recommends that online file-cleaner far and wide, thus, we are all pondering the burning question of: WHY? If that's the result, why use that method, when there are others that are far better/more thorough, etc.? That's all.

At least, that's what I think is going on...maybe others have a different view.

Nope. We're on the same page. It's not the OP's code that's being criticized. It's the results of the online Word2CleanHTML that are being criticized.

"The Machine" doesn't write, create, edit, update, correct, ebooks. It's ugly because its ugly. There was nothing "pretty" printed about the code that I downloaded and looked at that supposedly came from Word2CleanHTML.

There's just no reason for people to be uploading entire books to Word2CleanHTML when there's lots of tools that can be run locally that produce much "cleaner" code.
