Please make location mandatory - Page 4

There are a lot of people asking a lot of questions where the answer is location specific. It's getting tiresome to read "Where are you from?" questions. Just make location mandatory and let those questions go away and let the help come sooner than waiting for the OP to answer.

Maybe we could have a sticky in the "which one should I buy" forum that tells people in order to get the best help, they should provide basic information including their country (because not all products and services are available in every location); price limit (because there's no point in recommending a $200 product to someone who has only a $100.00 budget), and any other such things that come up over and over again.

Agreeing on the first one. Yes, a price range would be nice.
$100 is a basic kindle or a fire.

I see nothing wrong (hazardous) with posting a geographic region.

I use a generic, that resolves pretty much to the north end of a Northern California County. There are only a couple of Million people here

I think my generic encompasses a slightly larger area.

If someone puts an actual location, but it's not true , then it's not our fault that we'll possibly be giving incorrect answers to questions that rely on knowing the location.

I agree. I go with Seattle Metro. It's roughly a 100-mile stretch along I-5 from Olympia to Everett with a population of nearly 5 million people.
