I use my Anker solar panel charger as much as possible. I use whatever cords came with the phone or ereader, but let the sun do the work. I keep the fold-up panel hanging in my back deck glass door for charging whenever I need it.

I have a lot of them. My wife and I each have one on our side of the bed, my daughter has one, we have one downstairs, a couple we keep in the suitcase, there's one in the car with two USB ports. Plus a couple batteries. Every now and then the cables get lose and don't charge well, so I use a pliers on the cord to make it fit better.

I figure if you cannot see what the amperage is, then it's not enough and I won't buy. I want at least 2.1A with 2.4A preferred.

That is useful! I'll have to look out for one of those. I always take a 4-socket power strip with me when I go away, and having one with USB sockets would save having to take separate chargers.

I'm liking this extension lead with 2.4A USB ports. For the iPad 4th gen on up, 2.4A is better for charging.

Nice looking, Jon, but rather expensive!

True, but I'm just after something cheap and compact to take with me a few times a year when I go away on trips, to reduce the numbers of chargers I take with me. This is large and expensive - far bigger than the power strip that I currently take on my trips.
