LOL, I have made sure I finished up my current PB before it arrives. I haven't started a new one as I normally would, as I didn't want to get caught with it half done while my new gadget called to me

Now if someone can tell me how to get through tonight and waiting for DHL tomorrow, I will be grateful, this is worse than Christmas Eve when you're a kid !!

It's the new Pratchett? How could I not start it

Of course now the long lonely wait for a delivery begins.

Oh man. This is much, much better than my Iliad. One odd thing though. The collection info I setup in Caluibre hasn't been carried over. Would that be because I exported them back to lrf and copied using the Sony app?

Yes, to have your tags added as collections on the Reader you have to use Calibre to transfter the books.

Flub I am so jealous. Mine has turned into a farce......

As predicted DHL has fluffed my delivery. I got one parcel from them this morning and it should have been two. Got my Sony lighted cover for the reader but no reader. Why? Well the tracking number for my reader shows an incorrect address !!! Brimingham and Im in London !

Waterstones don't want to know, fobbed me off and told me to sort it with DHL. I have rang DHL and they are trying to contact the driver who has it and get it to the correct addy, so far with no luck, the driver is not answering phone.
Went back to Waterstones and insist they try to resolve it their end. They really don't care, they told me its DHL's fault and I need to take it up with them !! Including, if it fails to arrive I have to seek compensation and replacement from DHL !!
I informed them that my contract was with them not DHL and they were the ones employing DHL for delivering their goods, until it was in my hands it was still their property, therefore they should resolve this. I refused to be fobbed off and now a supervisor is escalating it to head office..........or so she claims, will see what happens now.

So mad about this. More annoying is there are some in town and I can't go buy one just in case it arrives, plus if I bought in store I would lose my 500 bonus points for pre-ordering.

I knew this would not go smoothly, this stuff just seems to happen to me. Can't believe Waterstones and their service. What rubbish.

Sorry for the rant, but after all this time waiting for my reader from pre-order this just blows !

My DHL delivery was a farce too. Someone screwed up and they're not even going to try and deliver it until tomorrow. I just went and bought one from town. I can return the spare one in store when it arrives.

I'm never ordering anything from Waterstones online again though.

Your contract is with Waterstones. Phone them back and point this out to them

I barely think this qualifies as a 'rant' just a perfectly understandable expression of your frustration. Waterstones are being tossers IMO.

Hang on tight there because the reader IS worth it and when you have it clutched in your sweaty paws this current frustration will be forgotten.

He's right. The reader is most definitely worth it. I'm amazed at just how small and thin it is.

My B&W 2000AD comics work really well on it too.

update

Well, after my refusal to be fobbed off by Waterstones CS, Head Office rang me a little while ago .......
She was great, very apologetic and has sent a replacement for me, if the first one arrives today, I just refuse the one tomorrow........she has also given me £15 of vouchers in my waterstones e-wallet so I can download some ebooks once it arrives, as a goodwill gesture for my phone bill and time taken to sort this issue. She was really nice and helpful........so it does pay to stand your ground and ask to be escalated.......
I am praying it still arrives today, DHL are trying to redirect the driver so it doesn't go back to the depot........there is still hope I guess, but its getting dimmer as the afternoon wears on.......at worst I should have one by tomorrow.........................will keep you informed.

I just wanna play with my new toy

thanks for your support guys

What's on the CD? Is the eBook Library still the same as available from Sony Support? Is the manual still the 2007 version which mentions "CONNECT eBook Store"?

Hi babyd,

How frustrating! It only ever happens when you want something really desperately!

Picked mine up today and currently putting books on. Have an 8gb card which will have all my photography books and magazines which are converted pdf's so generally quite big.

Can't wait to have a read, however called in to my favourite pub/restaurant on the way home and had a nice fresh turbot with scallops and prawns, along with new potatoes and salad, all washed down with a lovely bottle of Merlot! So feeling a little sleepy at the moment!

Regards

Chris

LOL I know, why couldn't it have been the cover that went rather than the reader. Now I am sitting here holding an empty lighted cover and feeling so sad LOL
By the way, the lighted cover is fab, really well made, can't say how well it lights the reader till I get me mucky paws on it
4.10pm and still waiting.......

Hi Fellow picked up today 505 people,

Can anyone tell me how many points they got in total from Waterstones?

When I ordered mine over the phone I was told I would get the additional 500 points and want to check if I have. My receipt gives a total of 597.

Regards

Chris
