As to the Oasis being ergonomically better is a matter of opinion. In my opinion, I would find the Oasis less ergonomically better than the Voyage.

It's ergonomically better if you have RSI, or at least the sort I've got. Less finger/thumb motion needed, better thumb and wrist angles, and the damn thing is lighter. That matters a *lot*.

(Yes, I can pick up books without discomfort -- but I know people with much worse RSI, and they can't any more. They're too heavy. Intense RSI is horrible.)

Thanks, Nullnix, for that battery education! I charge my Kindle Keyboards (at least the 2 that I use regularly) every weekend, just because it's convenient to do so. Now I suspect that is why they are still on the original batteries (I bought them when they first came out). I use 3G often in one of them. I have no idea how long the batteries would last with just reading, as I never let the batteries get much below half charge. I have ordered a couple of new batteries now....

I'm sure your question has no relationship at all to what my Drill Sgt. once asked me, so I'll give a different answer:

I could tell the different between the two and in a significant way. For me, it added additional pleasure to my reading.

If you can afford it, I would suggest you go for it. Perhaps you could bring your old reader to a location that has the newer models set up and then you could compare the two.
