No hard feelings at all. Just curious, really. I can understand "diaper", I guess (though diapers have nothing to do with the name), but "dirty diaper" is all on you. Do you never think of clean diapers?

But there wouldn't be so many of us using the devices if they were all like that. I'm moving to straight Android now, to get the latest real Android OS, not because of any issues with the hardware. I think if you got an exchange, the new tablet would perform as designed and be great for entertaining the kids.

My big problem with Amazon and the Kindle Fire is that I bought one of the super-cheap kind-of-rubbish low-end Fires in the Black Friday sale and I have no idea why.

My school got Amazon to donate a 100 of them for in class use and while I would not recommend them as a primary tablet they do work good for the limited things I do with them. They are good for Comics, Color PDF's and other documents, using the Audible and Kindle apps and consuming Amazon streaming content but not for much else. They are most definitely extremely low end tablets.

$35 isn't such a deal for a tablet I rarely use. On the other hand, my coworker has one as her only tablet, uses it at work and at home and loves it.

Fire tablets may not be my bag, but aside from the OPs lemon, they aren't bad devices.

I'm not following at all. Your "problem with Amazon" is that you can't stop yourself from buying things from them you don't need?

If it's just sarcasm, I understand. But in this day and age of rampant corp-hating, I can never really be sure if people really are blaming their own inability to resist temptation on Amazon.

I have heard too many people say they can't stand company X but have to shop there because everywhere else is too expensive.

I always think nice excuse because I do not always find company X cheaper.
But then I primarily shop sales.

Amazon is powerful, but not so powerful they force me to make purchases against my will. At least not until they put hypnotoad in charge of marketing.

Humor, I get. But I can never be entirely sure. I've met too many people online, and in real life, who are irrational enough to say what you (and DrNefario) said without an ounce of sarcasm. Glad to learn you're not one of them.

I bought the cheapie tablet on Prime day; it's my first tablet and I've been completely satisfied with it. I use it mostly for reading and playing games; recently it was Alexa-enabled, so I got to try that out without spending any more money. I don't see a need for any other tablet.

I have wondered what diapdealer was dealing (some kind of weird drug? ) but I never thought of diapers!

Some user names do make me think things that are probably not at all what the person intended - for example, when I first saw the name "cinisajoy" I read it as "sin is a joy"

You have the pronunciation correct. However, it is cin short for Cindy rather than sin although that one might be more fun.
At least you were polite and didn't come in screaming "how dare you advertise that. Sin is not a joy". Yes, actually happened in a yahoo game room when the name was new.
