We should all boycott Sony NOW! There ebook software only works on Windows machines. That is exclusive and lets out us Mac users. As a Mac user I can not buy ebooks from Sony. They are such elitists!

I used to be a Mac user too. Unfortunately I realized long ago that Macs are never going to get the same level of support as Windows.

This guy's thumb:

Doesn't look anywhere near that little stick on the right. Or is there a page control on the left somewhere?
That is also not a very safe way to hold it. Good chance for it to slip out of his hand and fall. At least the 505 has the page turn button near where the guy's thumb is. But that's still not an easy way to read on the 505.

Actually, you DO have the ability to add Windows to your MAC so you can use eBook Library on your MAC.

Sure, if I want to pay $200 for a copy of windows. But, you DO have the ability to get a Kindle and buy Wizard's First Rule. Oh, you could also buy a paper back copy of it for $8.

If I'm in an "unsafe" environment, Jon, I have the cover open and hold it two-handed, like a book, in which case my right thumb falls over the page turn control. The way that I hold it one-handed is, however, pretty "safe", because it's well balanced, and the weight of the machine is supported by all my fingers at the back.

How about the Hanlin V3?

Or one of it's clones? Anyone want to comment on Hanlin vs Sony?

I'd originally leaned more towards Sony because of the 8 shades of gray, but I suppose my wife won't likely care. :P

I'm also eagerly awaiting Sony's Oct 2nd announcement, of course.
