I cut out the approx. size of the Kobo One and placed the HP Stream 7 over it for a more visual idea of sizing. My stream weighs 364g compared to the One's 230g. (that doesn't include the leather folder cover that the Stream stays in) Actually the folder cover is about exact to the sizing of the One.(if I measured correctly)

I like the idea of a flush screen so that food particles and sand will be easier to wipe off.

I just visited the Kobo website and guess what was in my shopping cart! I guess they are trying to be helpful for when Aug 30 rolls around.

Amazon won't allow me to download AZW3 books. When you download a book, you have to select a device that you are downloading it for. Since the original kindle wasn't supported, all the options on the menu were grayed out.

I've never owned a Kindle, but I've been able to download every Amazon novel I've bought to Kindle for Mac before stripping/format-shifting. I gather there are some books that may not work with, but I'm yet to encounter one.

As I said, there are work arounds. Yes, I can use Kindle for Mac, but that's an extra step and changes my work flow. Plus, I use Kindle for the Mac for the ebooks that a friend of mine purchases for me from the English store (She's in Wales). All in all, this works better for me.

I've been reading on my iPad mini 7.9" screen and my PRS T1 6" this week trying to decide which I like better size wise. Weight isnt an issue since I pack my iPad mini on a daily basis.

Good, because I noticed a sizable difference in weight when I switched from a T-1 to an H2O. I'm used to it now, but it took several months. The screen on the H2O was a real improvement, though. The Aura One is much bigger, but slightly lighter than the H2O.

When I switched from my T1 to H2O, weight was not an issue from day one. So don't think weight might be an issue because it's not.

I like reading lying on my back, supporting the device with just my little finger...
Weight is an issue for me.

And a designed-for-the-device case is a must. Not just some rubber-band all-purpose gaudy thing.

Whether or not you want to convert, I'd urge you to consider removing the DRM from your books. You never know when some policy change will cause you to lose access to your DRMed ebooks.

Granted, it's probably least likely for ADE books, but it's happened with Adobe DRMed PDFs in the past. (They shut down one of their authorisation servers, and if you missed the window to transfer the content to a new server, you lost access to old PDFs.)

It's happened with Amazon. Before Amazon sole the Kindle and Kindle eBooks, they sold Mobipocket, MS Reader, & PDF. When Amazon decided to stop selling eBooks, everybody who bought eBooks from Amazon lost access to them. So if they needed to download to update the DRM say on a new computer, too bad.

Yep. I learned my lesson years ago. Even as recently as when Sony stopped selling ebooks, a number of ebooks didn't transfer over to Kobo because of contract issues. Fortunately, since I had format shift the books and archived them, I am still able to read those missing books on the device of my choosing. I suppose it doesn't really matter if you don't re-read books, but I do.

Man, the 'it didn't bother me so it shouldn't bother you' retort is really irritating.

There is a noticeable weight difference between the T-1 (168 gm) and the H2O (233 gm). I'm glad it didn't bother you but that doesn't mean it wouldn't bother someone else.
