That makes a little more sense. From what I can see of the specs, the Aura should do 802.11n. It should do the other modes (except 5GHz), but it obviously isn't. I have no idea why. The Aura HD uses different hardware and drivers, so it is probably something in the Aura hardware.

I finally got it working.
I almost figured it out on the first page of this topic but I did not test every wireless mode.
So with my Linksys EA8500 the only wireless modes that work for my Aura are the 2.4GHz "802.11b Only" and "802.11g Only".
The modes that do not work with my Aura are "Mixed", "802.11b/g" and "802.11n Only" and the 5ghz band is not seen at all.
I wish I had tested every mode to begin with but unfortunately I only tried ones that did not work.
What really threw me off is that my Aura HD has no problem with the 2.4GHz "Mixed" mode that I have been using.
Weird. My router on the 2.4Ghz is set to compatible mode 802.11b,802.11g, and 802.11N.
Checking in my router, it says my Aura is connect using N. Maybe a Compatibility issue between the Aura and your Routers chipsets? I don't know, any who glad you got it working!

I was wondering the same thing but the additional access point I added to my network is made by Netopia and the Aura will not connect to it either when it is set to 802.11b/g
I have set the Netopia to 802.11g just for the Aura to use and now I can set my Linksys router back to Mixed mode for all my other devices to use.
I still wish I knew the problem because I will probably have trouble with the Aura connecting to certain hotspots if I take it traveling.

yeah that would suck while traveling.
I guess maybe you could just sell it and upgrade to the Kobo Aura One when it comes out. That should solve the problem.

That's why I have AAA Roadside Assistance. No need to get hands dirt or buy new car to fix a flat. This doesn't cover roadside assistance for smart phones or readers yet.
