I think it's this one in a color they no longer carry. And since I hate a purse without a zipped top, I hand sewed a zipper onto the top edge. The inner edge is fabric, so I didn't have to sew onto leather. A large tooth YKK zipper worked wonderfully. I've never ever spent that much for a purse before, but I love it! I have a Kobo Aura H2O and it has a 6.8" screen. I have a smallish size backpack that I use to carry my H2O with me when I go out. It would easily fit a Kindle as long as it was not a 9.7" model. |

Which is a possible solution for the OP, if that "guy" doesn't mind having a second e-reader that isn't a Kindle (differing supported e-book types and no sync'ing, which can be ok if you usually have several different e-books going at once). It fits in many shirt pockets, and just about any shorts pocket. |

A local designer makes these nice bags for your waistbelt.
The larger pocket fits a Kindle Pawerwhite or Voyage in their standard sleeves perfectly. And it does look nicer than a tool belt ;-) Last edited by WT Sharpe; 04-21-2016 at 10:49 AM. Reason: Oversized image changed to thumbnail attachment. |

That looks awful. I'd be embarrassed to be seen with one.

It's just easier to say no pockets at all. Chest pockets can get bumped in a crowd. So no matter what pocket you use, it can get bumped enough to end up with a broken Reader.

Bags/back packs can get bumped and jostled as well. In fact are probably more prone to bumping and jostling that something in a chest/jacket pocket.

You'd have to be bumped pretty damn hard to break your eReader in the pocket. I've carried around various kindles in my pockets for years with no issues. In fact when I go for lunch at the office I take my Kindle out of my laptop bag and slip it into my back pocket. Walk to the food court and make sure I take it out of my pocket before I sit down. As long as you're aware that you have an electronic device you should be careful with, you'll be careful.

I guess if all of the less than three thousand people in my area went to some activity at the park we could manage to make a crowd. Sometimes I go over to Sherman. I have seen as many as six people in the checkout line in stores if some of the clerks called in sick. Would that be a crowd? Nobody ever pushes. I last went to Dallas in 2013. I flew to San Jose. Those places have crowds, but somebody else has to pay me to go to them. So no, somebody running into me or otherwise bumping my chest pockets isn't anything I generally have to worry about. My car might hit a deer driving at night though. I don't think there are any bags that would protect my ereader in that instance. I probably won't be too worried about reading books if I hit a deer anyway. |

If you have a Kindle Voyage just buy one of those magnetic vests that hold tools and just stick your Voyage on your chest.
