All my handheld devices get cases, as they do travel, and if I'll be reading on it the case needs to serve as a stand. I'm using this case for my KPW2. It stands at any number of angles and provides a variety of handholds. Two years on with almost daily bag-stuffing, propping, unpropping, mealtimes, and at least a couple trips to the floor, the case is showing modest wear and the device none at all. The product pictures give it a puffy look, but in person it's fairly sleek.

I'd call the stitching fair to middlin', certainly better than most Chinese pleather items in my experience. After two years of rough use, I have a single loose stitch in two places on the outside cover and one place on the hand strap. The bottom tabs that you pop off when using the stand are a bit ragged, but no seams have come loose. When I got it, I found it higher quality all around than the pics led me to expect.

I want to add I'd be inclined to get a case if there was a commercially offered one which allowed for my H2O to be charged via solar panel. I don't think it'd end up replacing plugging it in, but it'd be nice to be able to charge it wherever I was.

No, just a zip case when not in use.

I started using an inexpensive sleep cover from e-bay on my Kobo Aura after reading all of the stories about broken e-readers. I find it makes holding the e-reader more comfortable! I also like the sleep feature. I would never have paid the crazy price for the Kobo version, but I am happy that I started using the cheap one.

I chose no. I only use a quilted cover to protect the screen from scratches from stuff in my purse. Otherwise, I read from naked ereaders. When I bought a used Kindle Keyboard, it came with a nice leather cover with a light. I tried it for a few months, but just couldn't stand the weight.
I did buy my Mom one of those magnetic covers when I bought her a paperwhite. This was because it would save her battery, going into sleep mode when you close the cover. Last edited by Tarana; 04-17-2016 at 10:25 PM. |

JSWolf will be happy to know that I actually do use covers these days. In fact, I'm pondering whether to purchase a cover for my H2O (I currently only use a sleeve) but I'm not sure if it's worth it as I mainly use my PW3 and I want to see if Kobo comes out with a new reader this April.
However if the reader was small enough (like the Kobo Aura was) to fit in a pocket, no I would not use a cover if it meant negating that advantage. Yes JSWolf, I WANT TO PUT MY EREADER IN MY POCKET! |

I don't think you left us enough choices. I rarely use a cover at home but I do have a cover on my oldest Paperwhite. It's the one I usually take with me but more than that, the cover helps me tell it from my newer one.
So we should have had the option to answer Sometimes. And if Cthulhu doesn't like that, too bad. ![]() Barry |
