I won't be able to make it. Not that far from Starkville but I have commitments. I hope it goes well and I'll try to make the next one.

Slayda says the weather is supposed to be chilly at 63 degrees. That's below freezing to those of us in the Deep South. If anyone is wondering what to bring, a coffee pot and fixin's might be a suggestion.

hm, 17° C ! pretty chilly for a picnic outdoors ! in paris it will be colder than that (low of 7° C announced for saturday night, so 44° F) but we'll be indoors where it's warm. don't forget your hats, gloves, scarves and warm socks (all the rest is just accessories).

Unfortunately, you're in the middle of the cold spell that went through here on Wednesday. In a couple of days, it's going to get warm again. Today's high is 75-80 and tomorrow is predicted to be even warmer. A picnic/cookout in fall weather is still fun. You just need to bring the soups and stews instead of the chilled salads. Have fun. Wish I were there.

Just got home from the SE Hoedown. DixieGal & BMWVan took lots of pictures. I'll let them post those. We had 7 people and a lot of gadgets (Slayda & daughter, DixieGal & husband, BookishDreamer, and BMWVan and wife). Beautiful cool (not as cold as expected) day but windy so it was jacket & sweater time for most of us. We spent about 4 hours and had a good time.

Gadgets included several PDAs, 4 Sony readers (3 were 505s & 1 was a 500), an ASUS EEE PC, a Bookeen Cybook Gen3, 3 Laptops and a couple Ebookwise 1150s (I think. They were BMWVan's & DixieGal's.)

Plenty of food to bring home.

Not a single Kindle? Shucks. Now I *really* wish I had been there. I'd have bought a book right in front of everyone and let them drool as they watched me start reading it.

i just got back from a delightful evening and wanted to let you know that we all drank a toast to you over dinner, probably right about your lunch time or after (it was probably around 9 pm here i think). so if your ears were buzzing, that's what it was !

i hope you had as much fun as we did !
