Not many solutions there.
Create collections on the e-reader. Using calibre will help.

Else, sell the kobo, and get a reader that do folder browsing. (cybook, pocketbook)

Thanks EowynCarter.

This is precisely the info I was looking for. Obviously I use ebooks differently to most people but the directory facility is something i consider vital.

Unfortunately the track got hijacked by other arguments.

I have looked at the info on Pocketbook and Cybook on the Web. Neither are sold locally so I have to go on what I read. Somehow the Cybook looks more attractive.

Thanks for the help.

for some reason, Bookeen doesn't sell in the US (if that's where you are).

However, you might be able to install Koreader on your Kobo. Koreader does support directories.

Get an android based reader like T62 and install calibre companion on it. It will sync with your calibre library and you can sort it to shows your books any way you like. Without needing to mess with folders etc.

I have to agree that a database solution such as Calibre Companion is infinitely more flexible than any system of directories or tags, in that it allows you to dynamically view and search your books using any criteria that you wish.
