I've used a variety in the past and if the iphone reader offered a bit more in the way of customizing the backgrounds, page turning effects, etc. I'd stick with it as it does a great job of categorizing the books into their series format using metadata I suppose.
This is why I now stick with the 'official' apps. Kindle and kobo, at least those companies have a vested interest in keeping the apps working with each upgrade.

I liked Marvin but gave up as soon as it no longer worked with Calibre using the iOS plugin. The Dropbox adding is too cumbersome for me.

I understand that Apple is still signing 8.2 but that will not last for very long. I would downgrade sooner than later!

This thread started with the info that IOS had been upgraded.

I then remarked that the new upgrade prevented you from using a popular Calibre plugin for Marvin.

I don't know the number of people using Marvin, but Marvin has its own top thread in the software section, so maybe it is not as few as you hint.

It can always be discussed what an appropriate place would be.

This thread could be at Marvin, Calibre or here at Apple devices.

Well, it started at Apple Devices and I don't think it is off topic here.

It might have developed into something off topic, but this is certainly not the first thread to do so.

From what I read at Marvin's issue tracker website, the developer is working on Marvin 3.0 and is rebuilding it from the ground up.

After restarting everything for the second time, Marvin OPDS is now working with calibre on my iphone 6 and my ipad.

II still use ios 6 for my ipad 4, I see ios 7 and 8 so heavy, I have been to update ios 7 for ipad mini and usability and 3D gaming is very poor, often leak out, if you do not need high security I think no need to upgrade
