Usually the usual junk is installed such as some antivurus demo like Norton. These things are easy to remove. It does come with Windows 8.1 and you can install Classic Start Menu to make it look and feel like Windows 7 if you want a full desktop with a proper start menu. So that's no problem. Calibre 64-bit and Sigil all work very well under Windows 8.1. So does ADE and Kindle (Desktop/Windows 7 version). So really, there's no need to avoid Windows 8.1. And the Acer will be strong enough to let you plug in a high resolution monitor. I prefer higher resolution than 1920x1080 for a stand along computer monitor. This is the monitor I have. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-294-_-Product It has a resolution of 2560x1440. Last edited by JSWolf; 03-18-2015 at 01:44 AM. |
