Last night I dreamed I was leaving work on my motorcycle. On the way out the gate, I spotted a friend and whipped around to offer him a ride. It was then that I saw the biggest black bear probably in the history of the planet lying in the street beside some other people. This bear was easily larger than a either grizzly or a polar bear. When I rode near him he was stirred to rise up on his feet. I slowed enough to stroke the fur on his head. At first he seemed to evidence a disposition to follow me, but I gently discouraged him. Then I got off the bike, helped my friend load his packages, and suggested that he go back into the shipyard so he could get his hard hat since I wasn't carrying a spare helmet, but he seemed to think with all the other stuff tied on the bike the police wouldn't notice.

What a weird dream. I've been retired now for 8 months and still my old job intrudes upon my dream world. Not to mention that it's been 20 years since I had the Sportster.
Now I'll probably dream of snakes and bears tonight. I still have the occasional dream about being at work and I haven't been employed since 1999. It's been a while since I had one of those though.

I had a weird nightmare last night. I seemed to have been someone else but couldn't remember what my name was. What I do remember was that I was in college and was arrested by a fanatical police officer who had been pursuing me for years. I remarked to him about how Lt. Gerald had finally captured his Kimball, but a better comparison would have been Javert finally capturing his Valjean, as the crime for which I was a furnace fugitive and was now facing prison was not murder, but rather failure to pay a library fine. I was worried about how I was going to meet my obligations from a prison cell, but on the other hand was comforted by the fact that I would have plenty of time to read and study, which was especially good because I was auditing a class at the time of my arrest even though there was standing room only in the class. I remember thinking that if I had been using an alias, I might have avoided capture. I awoke feeling guilty; a feeling that lasted long after I was awake enough for reason to assure me this was just a dream.

I did have a dream a few days ago about being back in Vietnam. What surprised me was that nothing had changed; something I know to be untrue from not only pictures and stories in the media but from the large number of imports that now say "Made in Vietnam".

Yeah, the last bit about the manufacturing coming into here is not necessarily a good thing

[ WT - might want to edit out "furnace" and re-insert "fugitive" which I imagine was your goal. I'm assuming auto-correct helped you out there! giggle.... ]

I've been lying down resting (head cold) and had an odd one that I don't remember much of except that there were several cyborgs running round in it. I have no idea where they came from.

Better than just plain-old auto-correct; a combination of auto-correct and Swype! I do love Swype, but it can sometimes lead to some interesting results if you're careless!

I can't believe my discovery of Swipe is less than two months old. I must be the last person on the planet to have discovered it. But it's quickly addictive, and so very much faster than typing that now I wonder how I ever lived without it. Still, I find there are many words in my vocabulary that need to be manually added to its dictionary, although "furnace/fugitive" was probably my fault.
