which seems to be a much more popular search result (and requires sudo). But sync should be there.

I would really have no idea, I don't do Macs -- I simply assume that regular unix features would not be deliberately killed.

Thanks everyone for helping out. I manged to downgrade the software, Jail break it and put KOreader on it (KOreader on PW2 is tricky) and it runs like a charm now (but also cracked the screen in the process

). Amazon may ship me a replacement sometime soon so I am guessing I ll have to repeat the entire endeavour again.

What's the lowest firmware a PW2 can be downgraded to?

5.4.2 or 5.4.0 if you are brave enough to boot to diags mode.

Thanks. That explains why 5.3.9 kept on not working...

I was hoping to downgrade it far enough that it didn't load comics in AZW6 format, but maybe that's not happening. On my PW1 that was 5.3.9.
