I believe these batteries last longer if you keep them topped up rather than letting them discharge to a low level. I try not to let mine drop below 40%.

No, it makes no different with a lithium polymer battery such as the Kindle has.

Personally I let it get to around 1/3 full, and then recharge it, but that's just because I don't want to run the risk of it running flat in the middle of a reading session. It makes no difference to the battery life whether you top it up every day, or let it drain to the "low battery" warning before you recharge. Do whatever suits you best.
