If you leave the wireless 3G on this can happen. Try to turn this off as much as possible. Also depends how much you are using just reading with it as well (# of page turns).

Your dxg batteries may not have used much and may need a few cycles to come back. Try leaving it on charge (with ~1amp ac/usb wall adapter) for about 24 hours. After this, unplug it, start it up and do a restart (not factory reset btw). I've found that this then resets the battery monitor so it does not read low as quickly.

Try this for the next 4-5 cycles and see if things improve. Also, try not to allow your dxg to get so low that it reports that it needs charging or you will ultimately damage the battery. Try to get into the habit of recharging it when the monitor says it is ~1/4 to 1/3 full.

My dxg with ~1 hour per day usage and pretty small amounts of 3g wireless needs to be recharged ~ every 7-10 days.

Hope this helps.

Hi Thomas,

Do you know is there way I can set 3G such way that I can use it ONLY when it's free so that I won't be charged by any chance?

Thanks again

There are no charges for using Kindle 3G.

Connectivity to the Kindle Store, Wikipedia, and Bing Translate are guaranteed for free, and pre-Keyboard models have 50 MB free web browsing.

If you use the Kindle Personal Documents service, any books you download via 3G will cost you, however. 15¢ (per MB) for US delivery, 99¢ (per MB) for international delivery.

But I worried roaming or something like that. For example,if I carry it during vacation, I don't know whether they will charge me because it's not free in every country. Jut try to be cautious. But thanks

I believe it is free in every country. But I could be wrong. I am, after all, American enough that the whole world must revolve around what it's like here.
