Oh be nice Kenny.
386q4966d8v, thanks for the tip. There is actually a dealer close by, so I think I will check it out after Christmas. Still doesn't accomodate the cat though. |

That voyager looks like a nice chair but I couldn't find the price.
As to everyone having problems with cats scratching I have a couple of suggestions. Throws work well, buy some good, hard-wearing and attractive material, enough to drape over the entire chair, including the sides; then ask someone with a sewing machine to hem it. Drape this over the chair so that it hangs over the side areas where cats scratch but fits snugly into the seat to accommodate your bum. The cats can't get a grip on the chair to scratch and it gives you time to shout NO if you see them heading underneath to get at the chair. When I moved, I knew I was going to keep the cats in for 2 months, so I bought them a cat-tree. I've discovered that they'd rather scratch this than the furniture. On the odd occasion when they start upon the furniture, I just say, sharply: "No, skritchy-scratch post!" (pointing at the tree) and they go and scratch the cat-tree instead. Right now, my largest cat, Fred, is asleep in the bed at the top of the tree. Hope this helps. Doesn't get rid of fur though! |

No (though I can see why you could think that).
Random names are the way to go. I searched KennyC, Denver CO and came up with the following links: http://www.secularcafe.org/showthread.php?p=511068 http://www.thedrawingforum.com/forum...=1070&start=15 http://www.sciforums.com/member.php?68557-Kennyc All using the same avatar. I could take that avatar and run a search in google images- and it would return exact matches from all over the web. So for the 20seconds of searching I know you're into books, drawing, science etc. Not a big deal to me, but maybe a big deal to a marketer (cool hobbies btw!) ![]() |

Bookcat, I do all that you suggest. Nothing stops a cat that wants your undivided attention. They are pesky that way. They rarely scratch anything in the Summer - too occupied watching all the wildlife.

An easy way to spot the best reading chair?
Look for the one with the most cats sleeping where YOU want to sit. |

I'm with the Ikea Poang tribe, got one a few months ago and love it.
We also got a sofa from http://www.sofa.com/#sofas - they had some really stupidly comfy chairs too. If you can get down to London I highly recommend visiting their showroom / warehouse. If we had space I'd have gotten one of these for reading, to accompany the Poang - http://www.sofa.com/shop/sofas/armchairs/jude-armchair I'm not a sofa.com marketer or anything, I just like our sofa. Besides - at their showroom they have a beer and wine fridge ![]() |

Was that were you were sitting a few moments before? Our cats seem to appear from nowhere to take over the chair as soon as we get up. One moment, no cats in the room, you stand up to get a drink, look down and it is has a sleeping cat on it.
