Yes. You're still able to click on the "Buy Now" (old) or Price (new) button if you are looking at a list of books. But that just takes you to the book's details page.

In old Kobo, a "Download ePub" or "Adobe DRM ePub" button appears in place of the Buy button.

If you are looking on the new Kobo, the buy button is replaced with a "View in Library" button.

Thank you LA. Your explanation was helpful as always. It's a mute point since I can't seem to purchase anything on Kobo. I called Amex and they said there is no problem at their end, so I am clueless. I had logged off and when I came back a few hours later it kept telling me to go to my payment page. That's when I confirmed with Amex that all was well. I really am thrilled that I was able to get 20 books before the problem started. Your post had some interesting books so I thought I would get a few of them. Enjoy your haul.

Having the checkout bomb out after buying a number of books is "normal" for Kobo (usually craps out on me after ten or so books in a day). Usually a day or so later things start working again.

Kobo hasn't let me buy anything today either. I hope it's fixed by tomorrow because there are some new Carina Press books I want.

That's the perfect word for it. It happens after 10 exactly for me. Sometimes I have to wait more than 24 hours, but usually 3-5 suffices.

My card has been in time out for over 24 hours now. PayPal works but they took the credit card form off you must have a PayPal account now. WTG Kobo.

PayPal now allows you to pay with Prepaid cards so I guess the days of needing a bank account are gone!

I got one book at the ARe sale. So add Fallen Star by Jim Cangany to my list for the week. It's about a rock star/actress and ordinary guy who meet on a train (I think).

Warning to Blossom, it's written by a man. Plus it's first person (which I normally do not like) but from the guy's POV so I thought I'd give it a try.

I was up to the Q's in my great check-all-books/reconvert-as-needed project. But I now need to process all the new books I got. I'm tired just thinking about it

I do read romance written by a guy if it's good just don't ask them to read it to me.

I have a new project now. I have to reconvert my books for the HDX. This will take awhile.

Those who can't get their card to work at Kobo. Amazon is declining cards too there must be something down!

Right you are. As soon as I made my post, I gave it one more try and got on with my Amex card and was able to purchase 6 more books before the checkout bombed out. Now I have 26 books in my Kobo Library without any email confirmations. But according th Amex they are being charged and charged correctly. I am using Firefox and all I did differently this time was open Firefox in a new window after clearing history. I am so clueless but I haven't given up yet. And I was so thrilled to get these 6. I wonder if Daylight Savings is screwing them up. Thanks for letting me know that this normal.

If you're getting the new style Kobo checkout I don't think anyone is getting confirmation emails (I know I'm not & let's just say I bought a lot of books the past couple days). In the Kobo discount thread someone mentioned checking with Kobo and being told they were 'aware of the problem'.

I haven't received any confirmation mail but this is not a new problem. This look appears some time ago for me and it had the same behavior. So, they can be aware, a totally different matter is they do something
