Now thats the magic word... OREO Cookies... Still the best and still the number one. The only cookie to bridge the lack of a common language amongst kids if the Commercial is to be believed.

You know folks, it really is a strange thing. My uncle owned a meat market, and while it was not a slaughter house, and while we at various times had chickens, pigs, even beef cattle and I was always exposed to hunting and even slaughter of animals -I've dragged in and skinned bucks, plucked/cleaned fowl, etc. somehow the bug larvae thing is pretty repugnant. Maybe it's the cooking that makes a difference. I'd like to think I'm a pretty logical guy, it's just protein, but somehow meat bothers me far less than the thought of eating insects, larvae, etc. Maybe a lot of it is that live bugs does not equal a properly cooked and seasoned steak in the jumble of bad wiring I call a consciousness... I suppose it all comes back to early training, and availability. We are so much of what we started as in those first five years. Thank heaven the potty training went well!

Local news item tonight was that a high school class had investigated and determined that Oreo DoubleStuffs do not actually have double the stuff(filling). What, I ask you, is the world coming to? Can we accept nothing at face value?

How about underwater 'bugs' such as lobster and crab? Crayfish?

I refused to eat raw fish until I moved to Japan, then wound up eating raw horsemeat too. Both taste damn good.

Now, living in the northern Thai jungles, my rule is;
If it can't move off the plate under its own power, I eat it. And I never ask 'what is it' until after I'm done!

(Oddly enough, Both Sony and Kobo came out in the US long before they were seen on the shelves in Japan.)

That just caused an entire paradigm shift...

Flies bug me mostly because they disrespectfully keep landing on my eReaders touch screen, triggering page turns.

Is it better to swat flies with a Kobo or a Kindle?

Kobo, since chances are you'll crush a few of Kobo's bugs at the same time.
