Manufacturers should release multiple screen sizes for consumers to choose. Just like the Pyrus e-readers.

You just can't stuff the larger readers like the Aura in a pocket or a small purse, it just doesn't fit.

So I'd be really upset to see small e-ink screens fazed out and replaced by the larger screens. It's nice to have the various sized options for everyone's preference.
Us big butted girls are at an advantage here, big pants = big pockets.

I love mine! It's so comfortable to use and ergonomically designed. Just wish it had a frontlight.

Shirt Pocket Size

I'm with whoever said he's like it to be shirt pocket size. I said this years ago. I have Kindle for PC and Android and Windows phone. I have a Kindle and a Nexus 7. I still find myself reading slightly more on my 4" phone. Also after reading on my touch phone, I decided I didn't like the buttons on my Kindle, so I bought the Nexus.

No, the small size of the phone doesn't bother me. I'm 75, use bifocals and am an engineer and still working. I carry my phone to read on during breaks & lunch.

I like a small reader that fits in one hand and in my handbag. Wouldn't want something larger and heavier. Hopefully manufacturers will continue to make small readers even as they introduce larger formats for people who want those.

As a couple of people have noted above, there doesn't appear to be a single size for all uses. I use my 6" KPW for most reading, but my 5" Galaxy Player is better for short form reading. I'm reading this on my wife's 10" tablet, which is better at graphics, and was at hand.

I've read on screens from 2.5 to 20 inches. Personally, I think 3.2 to 8" is the best range of sizes for most text reading. For fixed formats (pdf, graphics) bigger is better, baby! My 20" is awesome for that, with the 10" tablet the min size I prefer.

Regards,

I'm one of the 5" loving people. Right now I'm reading on my Kobo mini, although I really miss the physical page-turn buttons that my Aztak had.

That being said, I would also like one of the 13" readers, especially if I went back to being a DM for Dungeons and Dragons. There are places you can legally buy your D&D books as .pdfs, and reading two columns of text is impossible on the current generation of readers.

I think my default reader will always be 6 inches but I've been using a couple of kobo mini's lately and I have to say they are great for commuting. When you are in a cramped tube/subway compartment, squashed in like a sardine the smaller form factor really helps. I've also got my eye on the kobo aura, for home use. I'd rather have a kindle version of the aura so I'm holding off getting ones until Amazon announce their new devices.

Obviously since all I have this week is $2.39, my problem was: which one. (I bought Something Wicked This Way Comes.)

But the point of this post is that having bought it at Amazon I didn’t have it on my Kobo Aura, and when I opened up the Paperwhite to download my new book I received an almost palpable shock. I had set my beloved Aura aside for what? Apparently I’d forgotten how small a six-inch screen actually is. Was it worth saving $4 and change to read a favored book on this cramped screen?

Then I realized that the race is on. Surely Amazon has to answer the Aura’s challenge. They always announce the next model in late summer, so it should be soon. I think they will have to offer a bigger eInk screen, something that can even display newspaper pages for example--something with better formatting. Now I can’t wait to discover what Amazon will do.
A six inch screen is about the size of a page in a paperback
