Interesting, as there are three in the Glo cover. Two along the edge, top and bottom, and one inset about 3/4" and 1.25" from the bottom. I think you may have been correct thinking they left it out...

I'll have to take your word for it, as I didn't test the Glo cover with a magnet, I just saw the impression of the one in the lower right corner. I wonder if that is the one that activates the sleep feature. I'll investigate the matter further next week. Going out of town tomorrow, so lots of preparations to make, today.

Cover received. The auto on/off works fine. Case adds a lot of bulk, but at least it works. Can't say I am super fond of it. But it'll do, for now.

I received that cover for $8.99, and it does indeed have a sleep magnet that works perfectly. From my post about the cover on page 2 of this thread:

What makes you say it doesn't have the sleep function magnet? It's very likely the same magnet used to keep it closed also activates the sleep function. But it does work perfectly to put the Glo to sleep.

Edit: I've check the Amazon listing and it still indicates it's a sleep cover.

If you go back and read her posts you'll see that she bought the covers for both her Glo and her Mini. The Mini cover doesn't apparently have the sleep magnet, just two near the edge to hold the cover closed.

Oops, sorry I missed that. I thought she was talking about the Glo.

Isn't there some way you can make a tiny slit and insert one of the flat magnets for the mini? Or try to shift around the magnets inside? I wonder if they just placed them in the wrong position? It would seem a simple thing for the manufacturer to have done in the first place correctly.

I am considering adding a magnet. I just have to buy a thin one. The Navitech cover that I got for the mini, shows very clearly where the magnet it, so I could position one there and test it. My strong magnets are very thick, though. The Navitech cover is not too bad.

The local Radio Shacks used to carry a wee tiny neodymium magnet about 1/16th" thick, less than 1/4" diameter.

Thanks, I found them cheaper on Amazon, ordered 1/2" x 1/16" disks. I hope to glue it inside the flap. The mini cover is actually a little nicer than the Glo cover, even though they came from the same place. There is a bit of foam padding in it that feels nice. Front and back of the cover.

Ok the magnets arrived. Wow are they strong! I slid one into the pocket of this case, and it works very well, a little too well, as folding the cover behind the reader all the way, also puts the reader to sleep! I hot glued the pocket edges shut (they were touching the screen at times). So now this cover is quite nice. Though I will have to be careful not to get the magnet too close to my other readers.

I took the magnet back out. It was just too strong, and annoyed me whenever I forgot and folded the cover front all the way back.

I've not found the sweet angle when opening and closing the navitech cover, so I've almost 100% success rate when closing and opening the cover with its original magnet, hopefully it will work for you too.

To update, with my black 8.99 Kobo Mini cover, I got a tiny rare earth magnet from radio shack (via ebay). I taped one to the inside front of the cover and now the cover is great. The sleep function works perfectly, and it doesn't activate through the back, when folded all the way back. Now if I could just find the electrical tape. Masking tape, not too attractive.

I had ordered the other cover mentioned somewhere in this thread, the slim cover from aliexpress. But apparently they ran out of stock so I cancelled my order.
