Do you like skeuomorphism on your ebook software?

I had to look it up too!

My NookTablet has something called "animated page turns" that I hate. It doesn't exactly look like a page turning (which I also don't like); the page kind of slides across, as opposed to "appearing." Either way, you only have to tap, not swipe, but I find the animation very annoying and don't use it.

I only have e-ink kindles and Kindle Fire tables. I assume I haven't seen what this fancy word is suppose to do? I think I have seen that animation in a Ipad commercial.
I mostly just tab my Paperwhite. More like a gentle touch. Unless I hold it with one hand and have to go back a page, then I swipe with the thumb. I hold it in the right hand.

I only read a little on my Fire and it works about the same, doesn't it.

I don't think I need any fancy animation. I don't use paper books that way. With curling the page in at the bottom. I just slide in from the side. So it wouldn't replicate paper book experience for me anyway.

I am so used to the way my kindles do it now using them since 2008.

Yeah, I always thought skeumorphism was some sort of spinal deformity.

I like it, I don't know why, but I do. I think part of it may be that it provides the rhythm of reading on paper. I generally use the Nook for Android app on my tablet by preference as it does two-page view with skeuomorphism which I'm most comfortable with.

I have other apps and options, but for me that's the most readable one.

oh - I understand you now.
The buttons work for me as is - if I were reading a paper book, the unread pages would be on my right, so it makes sense to me to press the right button to go forward in the book.

Back to the original thread topic - I have read online articles which involved fancy page turn effects, even with sound effects, and I found those annoying. I am glad my Sony reader does not do that.

It makes no difference to me if the pages flip, slide, curl, whatever. My concentration is not so tenuous that a page transition style knocks me out of the story. I got used to the black flash on the e-ink devices; I can get used to anything.
