Sticking with my K3 until new quality/image-oriented display technology, or at least larger (I've always thought 6.25" would be a good idea, but I don't see it happening).

I have no intention of upgrading. I've had my K3 for a couple years now, and it is just fine for me. I'll replace it if it breaks, but I have no need to upgrade. I have a reading lamp on my headboard that works just fine.

If the front-lit screen had come a few months ago, I probably would have bought it just for that feature alone. Now with a series of 7"-8" tablets coming out (from Google, Apple and Amazon) I think I'll wait to see how those look first. I'm pretty neutral on e-paper vs. LCD-- I use both now & each have their plus sides-- and I'm expecting that the tablets will have a bigger leap forward, feature wise. The Nexus 7 has some nice features (Quad-core CPU, smoothness, full access to Android apps, GPS & 12-core GPU & nice price) & I'm hoping that Amazon & Apple can compete well with that.
So, hopefully in a month I'll know for sure where a front-lit Kindle falls on my list. Last edited by WaltC; 08-21-2012 at 09:50 PM. |
