So, for the sake of the freebies I get at Amazon, the cloud reader is good enough for now. Can't you download it onto a Kindle emulator? Or don't they have one for Linux?

Unfortunately they don't. Just Mac and Windows. Needless to say, the books mostly tend to be piling in "my library" but not read (much), favoring the books I have put on my calibre and T1.

I do have a few places I can probably use someone's window system and fetch my books that way, having asked around. That would be nice.
