We are presently looking into this. I have contacted paperback digital to discuss a possible solution.

If we find a solution with paperbackdigital, then this shall be for all customers who would like to "rescue" their eBooks.

Yep. I do have a Mobi device and I am buying in MS Reader format, just to make sure I can read my books in 10 years time (or 10 days, some publishers/booksellers live longer than others)

Crap. Just went to re-download The Road from this site.

What a load of crap. Anybody have any luck getting books that they've purchased from these cronies? And to think that I used to sing their praises...

In the US, the Library of Congress can allow exceptions to the DMCA. They have very explicitly not done so when there is some existing work around for consumers. In this case, the Library of Congress work around is buy the book again. I know this is crazy, but that is their position.

There is definitely no explicit exception for "already paid for this ebook", so it might not be legal in the US, but in places where format shifting is legal mobidedrm allows you to put your ebooks on a new device (assuming you still have a copy of the file).

I think if Mobipocket had a solution, we'd have heard by now. What I would consider doing is going to the publisher and saying you need to redownload their eBook in Mobipocket format. But the problem is though how can you prove that you really did purchase it from PaperbackDigital?

Good point. Do you really think that Mobipocket would allow a new download?
