Awesome stuff from Kobo; I wish I'd kept a list of non-Agency books to read, though, as I'm drawing a blank right now

It's a Canadian company. Call your credit card company and have the block against international purchased lifted.

Even then, you may get a call each time you use the card there (which is why I use gift cards or paypal).

Just used the $10 coupon to get A Short History of Progress by Ronald Wright, which is a great non-fiction book about societal collapse, originally presented as a series of lectures broadcast on CBC radio.

After the coupon was applied I paid $0.67.

The coupons work for Cara Black's Aimee Leduc series (Murder in the Marais, Murder in the Bastille, etc.). I picked up the latest book for under $2.

These are the steps I use:

1. Import your bundle file into Calibre

2. Edit meta data. Change title from the bundle name to that of one of the individual books. Change the cover to that of the individual book by using the download cover option in Calibre or downloading a cover onto your computer then using the Browse option under the change cover section to select your downloaded file.

3. Tweak epub. Right click on the file in Calibre to open the popup and select Tweak epub. Click the "Explode ePub" button in the new popup this will open a file explorer window. Open the OEPBS folder, here you will see all the indvidual files included in the bundle. If you're lucky you can determine which book they belong to by the file name. If you're not lucky the file names may be a series of somewhat random numbers and letters, however all the files belonging to a single book will likely begin with the same series of numbers and letters. In this case to determine which book is which, click on one of the HTML files. It should open a browser window where you should be able to see the title of the book on the browser's tab. Once you've established what's what, delete all the html files that do not belong to the book you named earlier. When done close the window and click Rebuild epub in the popup that should still be open.

4. Edit TOC. I've been using Sigil to edit my Table of Contents file however you can also use any text editor and edit the file before the Rebuild ePub step. Open file in Sigil, select the toc.ncx file, delete any entries that do not belong to your book. Save file, close Sigil. Regardless of which method you use, you will need at least a rudimentary knowledge of HTML to edit the TOC.

5. Back in Calibre reconvert it to epub.

That's one book done, repeat the process for each book in the bundle starting with importing the bundle file again. If you screw up, don't panic, just the delete the file from Calibre the reimport the bundle file.

You can also do all of the above in Sigil, I prefer the tweak epub method because I can delete multiple files at once. In Sigil you have to delete them one . . at . . a . . time (unless I'm just missing a method of selecting multiple files at once).
Thank you SO much for taking the time to explain it all. I will try it when I have some time over the weekend. I'm acquainted with Apprentice Alf somewhat so that's a start. But I thank you again so much for your detailed response.

This is very helpful especially with the Kobo bundles that I just bought.
I got the Shannon McKenna and Grace Burrowes Bundles.

apesmom, thank you! Your instructions were great, and I was able to separate the Kate Douglas bundle very easily!

We have the same taste in books. I grabbed Rick Mofina's latest Gannon novel The Burning Edge with one of my $5 off coupons and James Sallis's Drive (which I see you got with a Sony coupon) with a 50% off coupon.

Then I thought to check my library and they had both Drive and Driven, oh well, at least I can read the sequel for free. The library has books 2 and 3 of the Gannon series, but not Vengeance Road, so I used my last 50% off code for it. Mofina has been on my list of Canadian authors to try, so hopefully I like him.

You can use standard Shift or Control clicks to select multiple files in Sigil's file tree.

I picked up Sherlock Holmes and the Lyme Regis Horror for 20 cents with tax. Seemed interesting.

I was trying to find new stuff to use the coupons on instead of picking up more Harry Bosch so I ended up at the Mystery Lovers bookshop site they have a list of previous Edgar/Shamus/Agatha/Anyhony award nominees then I was just randomly plugging their names into Kobo to find the non agency ones. I had read an early Mofina before and from memory it wasn't bad, the Vengeance Road description grabbed me so hopefully it's good.

I was surprised at how few where available from Aussie Kobo the names appeared to be in the database but no search result came up I suspect that they're available in the other regions but not down here

Right now I'm a bit frustrated that so many on my wish list are $9.99 - would really liked to have paid a few cents for them....
