99.9999Z% of the time I use my good ole trusy Astak Pocket Pro. It goes everywhere with me. For the times I need to read a PDF I use my Acer Netbook and for the rare commic book I use my PC on the 47" big screen.

PP Great device..... Had one for about two years and gave it to a Mate who uses it daily. Now, I am using my Pocketbook 360 plus, since it is my latest purchase....but I still use my Opus and Sony 350.... Actually rotate them all every three books or so....or if a particular reader can't read a certain format...throw it into the Calibre Mill and slap it onto one of my other readers and that usually does the trick....
Long live 5 inch readers....... even if they are the Beta of eink.... |

One more vote for Sony. I read on Sony the most because of their great collection and organization features and the pretty cover images for browsing lists. I'm surprised that Nooks and Kobos have not done better in this poll. Interesting.

Kindle Touch. I have the Touch for outdoor reading during the day, and a Fire for indoors at night. Between the two I have pretty much any environment covered.

Sony was one of the first to release an e-ink reader so I reckon they've already got a decent install base from early adopters and plenty of repeat customers before B&N or Kobo released their readers. Alas, I don't think their popularity extends much beyond these forums.

Alternative device: Palm TX. There is still nothing that fully matches the feature set, convenience and performance of Plucker for my purposes.
When I am reading a PDF, I use my Archos 43. |

I just noticed the poll! I voted for Kindle, since I was reading it on the toilet this morning <g>. Last night I was reading on my rooted Nook Color. Next week I would vote for the Sony! As I am getting myself one for my birthday! I hope to drive down to get one tomorrow, Target has white in stock, Best Buy has black....what to do, what to do....

It's not a competition, is it?
![]() I did "vote" Sony, because the one I had most recently read on when voting was the Sony. Had I voted now it would have been Nook. And FWIW, there can only be one "most recently" used device unless you read two (or more) simultaneously (as someone pointed out earlier in the thread). |

I'm reading on a webOS device, a Pam Pixi phone. Tiny screen that has to be held close (but easy to use with one hand), and a wonderful reader program called PReader. Someday, when I find the right one at the right price, I'll have a bigger screen (but ideally smaller than a 7".! PReader will read all the popular ebook formats without conversion (but won't handle most DRM), and has a preferences screen that let's me select from a number of ways to turn pages. This is a great feature that I hope becomes more common. (It never makes sense to me that I've got to cross my hand in front of the reading screen to turn a page, for example.)
