Being newer to ebooks than most here, I try to put all my books on my NC, using Calibre, of course. I never thought about it slowing down my ereader, though.

I'm still (after a whole year) in awe that I can be out and about (traveling and such) with hundreds of books in my purse!!!

Use to be, I'd try to limit myself to 3 DTBs when traveling and it was always such a chore trying to decide which ones to take. I really don't understand people who don't see ereaders as the greatest invention of the century lol.

I'm one of those who has about 10 books on my Kobo, just to have a selection. As I read I delete and add a new one. I agree with a previous poster, were I going overseas or off for a trip, I'd certainly load the Kobo up, just to be sure.
I have a 2 Gig card in it but it remains empty.

I have all of my books on my Kindle. I'm like a hoarder with my e-books. I can't possible imagine not having them all with me. Just thinking about leaving them behind makes me hyperventilate.

Once I fill my Kindle, I'll probably have to buy another reader and carry both with me at all times.

Keep most of mine. I have a handful I don't have on my reader, and I don't keep my PDF books on.

Whatever I download to my reader stays there (bar library books). Thankfully, my ebook collection is still small enough that I can sync my entire library to the PRS-350's 2GB storage.

Alas, my comics and manga are another matter entirely. For those, I just try to keep a good selection of titles and genres on my Nook Color and iPad.

I'm fussy about the formatting of my epub files, so I keep them on my computer's hard drive until I've had a chance to check them and make the changes I want. Once they've passed my checks, I load them onto my reader, and there they stay. I like having my entire library of ebooks on hand, especially since I read a lot of historical non-fiction and use the books for reference!

Not only non-fiction books can be used for reference... We were watching the Potter movies during christmas and several times I check what happened in the book

I get twitchy, but so far have been disappointed with all the problems I'm having on various eink devices and micrSD cards. I may be able to get all my books on a 16 gig card, but the software on them just isn't able to handle the numbers. I've got one that has all my books and seems to do well most of the time, but even it will 'forget' the card exists from time to time. The only one so far that has my full stash and seem to not mind is the iPad. But I don't like reading on it.

Years ago, I once had to grab my newborn and his diaper bag and leave our apartment after another apartment caught fire. I couldn't get back into our apartment for seven days. So I'd like to be able to grab the one device with all my books, in case I never get back in. (Yes, I do have backups! Lol In a media safe, but haven't seen any on-line storage places I can feel I can trust.)

I also once had to get rid of my library, for space/weight limits on a military move, and spent three years in Japan with a very sad base library, a book store with very limited selection, and me beating my head on the wall for three years because none of my relatives would send me books. It was awful.

I just never want to do without again, so if I can find a way to carry them all, I will.

I treat the movies and the books as two entirely different entities. It's the only way I can enjoy the movies.

Have you used the Navy General Library online? It's through NKO. I lived in Japan too, and downloaded lots of books from there (still do!).

I've always kept between 150 and 200 books on my ebook reader. This includes unread novels, articles and favourites that I like to 'thumb' through from time to time (comfort books!); otherwise, I delete books as I read them. Also, I am a bunny.

You may want to keep duplicate copies in cloud storage or burned to disk just in case of hard drive failure or other unforeseeable catastrophe.

Just about all of my books are on my Kindle 2. I only have a few on my Kindle Fire - the two I'm reading, and a favorite re-read.

Too early. We didn't have internet, and the library didn't have any loans they could do through the other libraries for some reason.

Tv was almost as bad, as we could get a few BBC stations on satellite.

A few years later, when my brother in law's family was there, they were just getting internet.
