We got a B&N card card that will be used for DS's Nook, and I received an Asus Transformer and keyboard, mostly to read all those PDFs that are a no-go on the Kindle. That, and Angry Birds...

Well, I didn't get any electronic gadgets this year, but my wife and I got a Tibetan spaniel, for warming our laps while we read. Which is way better, in my opinion.

Received a Nook Color for Christmas last year and love it so much I kept telling everyone they'd never ever be able to top it as far as gifts go.
This year I got an iPod Touch -- the white 8GB one, totally unexpected. My very first Apple product -- it kind of scares me. Not quite sure what to do with it yet. |

Lots of Sony readers in our family. |

This year, I asked my grillfiend and friends not to get/expect anything expensive.
I was very happy with what I received: UE TripleFi Pros, UE700s and Etymotic HF2s. I've been revisiting headphones lately and will probably custom-reshell and recable both UEs in a few years. Others got these: Klipsch X10s, a Nook ST with pebbled red leather cover and four hundred books on SD, and Phiaton PS320s and 210is. The 320 has been rebranded because of its black metal band and alligator leather cups (not its detail-rich dual drivers) and is currently sold by Prada for $650, as featured in Esquire. The true and original version is a sixth of that price. The 210i were a secondary present, but I recommend them to anyone who likes classical music, needs to hear conversations and noises in the field, and dislikes the feeling of having large canalphone earpieces shoved into their heads. These reproduce the sound of unison flutes with such shimmering panache I really wanted a pair for myself. I'm kind of eying the Boox 920, or whatever it's called, for the kickin' screen. Problem is, I don't NEED it. And it's $400. So there's that.
I did get a new Asus Zenbook. I love it more than I love anything else. Including kittens. |

OMG THEY ARE ALL SO CUTE.
No. No, I will be strong. The Asus Zenbook would be lonely without its new mommy. But those are seriously cute kittens. ![]() |

Wow, did you really?? That is AWESOME. Like, I am actually in awe.
I can't draw anything. You have to come join me on Teledraw.com and do the drawing bits. I can only do the descriptions. |

Didn't get any, but gave some awesome ones. A Kindle Fire for both my mil and fil (saw my fil bending over his K2 while he was recently in our house, trying to read in poor light), and one of those cameras made to strap to a helmet, for biking or skiing or anything requiring a helmet. That was for my husband. He didn't use it skiing, but I'm sure he will mountain biking this summer.
I didn't get any elextronics, just that little blue box. |
