I have a US address that I use for various things & entered that into my Amazon account with my Canadian credit card & Canadian billing address. Amazon didn't like that. I had to enter my US credit card with the US address showing as the billing address other wise it was asking if I was travelling out of country (the US) and told me to call customer service.
I can't confirm that. I have tow years buying from Amazon only with an US address without any problem at all ever. Ever. I live in the Caribbean I have no US credit card.

Actually, Amazon has done just that in the past. This was before the Kindle. Amazon sold eBooks in different formats such as PDF, MS Reader, Mobipocket and maybe eReader (not sure on that one). They just decided to stop selling them. When they did that, everyone lost access to being able to download them. So when the DRM was needed to be updated, it was too bad. Unable to redownload, unable to update the DRM.

And people keep going on an on about the 1984 debacle where unauthorized copies were removed.
