I have also switched mostly to ebooks. My Bible reading and light reading are done on Kindle now.

I didn't read much paper, if at all, ever since I switched.
It's lighter, adjustable fonts, built-in dictionary, easy availbility of books in foreign languages, no storage space required. To me there are no disadvantages yet. |

I still love getting paper books. But it all depends on what you read. I love getting free, obscure history books on my e-reader, but when it comes to a good history book I want a paperback copy. Fiction can be in e-book, though there's still no replacement for the feel of a brand new paperback.

The e-reader is so much more comfortable than a DTB, of course I have an urge to only read e-books. With an exception:
I still want to attack certain non-fiction books with pen in hand. Philosophy, history, social sciences. I don't anticpate that changing any time soon. |

I haven't touched a PB in almost 2 years! I have no interest in going back to them. I am enjoying reading anywhere I want, especially during my commute to & from work.

We should put paper books on fire. Kindle Fire that is.
But seriously, I don't miss the smell, the bulk or the yellow pages of old paper books, but I miss impressing the ladies with my vast culture as exposed in my shelves. Oh, who am I kidding? They would be far more impressed to take pictures from my device and sending instantly to Facebook than any collection of Shakespeare. |

I look at paperbacks and hardcovers as too large, too heavy to comfortably read since I made the complete switch to ebooks.
I have a large collection of books in several bookcases as does my wife. No more room, Hail the ereader! |

I like kindle ebook. But I never give up reading paper books. Though similar, there are different kinds of feeling. I like reading when I was very young, I read books everyday, that's why I couldn't abandon paper books. But I really understand you, it's no easy to change your habbit. But you can learn to change your mind. You might think ebook is great with tousands of book in a little pad. No, you can read only one book in a time! It's the same when you reading a book. Anyway, book is our friend, would like to see more people love it, paper one or electronic one. Enjoy it!

I only read e-books and I still trawl second-hand shops to find interesting old books. I then convert them to ebooks, via a secret process that takes less than an hour.
Best of both worlds! Why do I read only e-books? I think it's because I find it a friendlier format. Somehow the text is surrendered more purely to my gaze when it's in e-book form, and I take it in more hungrily. Last edited by forcheville; 11-29-2011 at 09:36 PM. |

I read only eBooks now, although I still haunt books stores but only for my next eBook.
I donated the vast majority of my pbooks to the library near the house. I did it by dropping off 30 gal. Trash bags full over a period of months. I didn't want them to know I was the one donating, because........ although they always have books for sale, I donated way more than they had the capacity to handle so they were having to send them up to the main library in Salt Lake. |

These days I slice-and-dice pbooks I really want to read, photograph the pages (using a tripod it's far quicker than scanning) and make my own ebooks.

Fiction = eBook if available
Many non-fiction = can be either paper or electronic dependiong on content. Books about my hobbies = paper books. (Not available as eBooks, and/or not practical as eBooks. Need/want to be able to browse through, look at pictures, keep two open beside each other...) |

I still like looking in book stores when I'm near them, but only read ebooks.
Now I do buy cookbooks in pbooks and prefer them that way. My reader is too small for me for cooking. Plus I don't want to get my reader dirty. |
