email I got from Amazon (I did the email contact)
"Hello, I'm sorry there's a problem with "VIOLIN FOR BEGINNERS: The fastest and easiest way to get started on the violin." I will definitely help you. As you've requested, I've issued a full refund in the amount of $9.99, which removes your access to that title. The refund will be applied to the payment method used for the original purchase and should be completed within the next 2 to 3 business days. I've also requested that this title be corrected. I realize a refund can't fully make up for the inconvenience. Please accept this refund as a goodwill gesture and an apology for any inconvenience. If you need any help with this or any other issue, you can reach us by phone directly for live assistance toll free from many countries by clicking below link and selecting phone tab on our Kindle Support pages at: I happen to notice the book was removed from my list of books so that's when I checked my email and saw the message IMHO the book is a direct ripoff of Violin For Dummies which I promptly brought after I got my refund and it's a MUCH better read. |

You're not getting that type of service from Barnes and Noble. You want a refund? Too bad, so sad.

If you want to send emails to your kindle for free, use the ::name::@free.kindle.com address. You'll have to grab the emails via WiFi or USB though. (But they'll be free.)

The highlights and notes are also copied to a web site: https://kindle.amazon.com/ If she's wanting to copy short clips of text, then the answer is yes. There is probably a limit on how much text you can highlight, though I've never hit it. I'm assuming you can't highlight an entire book ![]() |

I believe this has been discontinued. If you already have the address you can keep it, but if you don't, you can no longer set one up.

Mike, I'll give you a word of advice. Return your Kindle while you still can. You might have bought an obsolete model. I say this because it is unclear if the KK will support KF8. If not, it's obsolete. If you buy a K4 Touch, then it won't be obsolete. But if you want KF8 and don't get it, you will be kicking yourself.

I missed whether MikeCL got the 3G, but if so, there's the issue of whether the Touch will have the no-monthly-fee most-of-the-world free internet which makes the K3 AKA KK 3G one of the great bargains in tech history. If you take Amazon at its word, the Touch will not have it. I know a lot of people here look down on the browser, so I'm going to point out a new reason why 3G is important for people who use the Kindle to keep up with news and current affairs. Just about the best web site for people like me is longform.org. Yes, you can browse the articles on your PC and then use that site's SEND to KINDLE button to read them on the device better suited to long texts. But lately, pretty often, halfway through the article, there will be a NEXT link for the second half. If I had a no-3G-internet device, I'd be in the middle of an article on the Philadelphia subway, and I wouldn't be able to finish it. Instead, I finish it with little delay -- first half as a Kindle personal document, and the second half on the web. And the second half web segments even remembers that I like large fonts, which I could explain if there is interest. |

We don't know if the KK will support KF8 and if that's important, then now is the time for that KK to go back. |
