I don't remember.

Edit: I remember now! The first book I started was The Little Women Trilogy by Louisa May Alcott.

The first book I completed was Practical Demonkeeping by Christopher Moore

The Unsuspecting Mage by Brian S. Pratt was the first e-book I ever read. I did not yet have a Kindle and was using both the Nook for iPhone and Nook for PC apps at the time.

I got my Sony 500 in August 2007 and only bought books from the Sony store. It was either a Miss Marple story by Agatha Christie or a contemporary romance by Jayne Ann Krentz.

I re-read Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice as it came free on my Nook and got me to reading as soon as I got it. The first thing I read on my Nook STR was a Raymond Chandler novel, though I can't recall which one.

Something from the Baen Free Library because once I got a Kindle I wanted to finally try their downloadable books on an actual e-reader instead of just the computer screen.

At this date I can no longer really remember if it was Born to Run, Sheepfarmer's Daughter, The Warslayer, or Wizard's Bane, because I can't recall if I wanted to re-read an old favourite or try a new title first. But I'm pretty sure it was one of the four and I could probably look it up by going through my Kindle backups and seeing which one's got the oldest .mbp file.

Hmm, everyone's posting edifying reading...

Something to the contrary:
Sony PRS-350SC, 5/18/2011: Hot Historicals Bundle with An Invitation to Sin (library ebook)

However, been reading on my PSP and iPhone before I got my PRS-350 (mostly fanfics). Now that I think about it, the first novel I read on both my PSP and iPhone was 1984 by George Orwell. On the PC, I'm not sure what my first ebook was. It's either The Tale of Genji (源氏物語 Genji Monogatari) or something by Shakespeare (thank you Project Gutenberg).

On my Palm Zire it was something from Gutenberg, I think it was one of the Ann Radcliffe novels but I'm not sure.

On my PRS-600 it was Emma by Jane Austen and on my Kindle 3 it was Ratking by Michael Dibdin.
