other - any store that gives me free books
![]() I really don't care where I get my books; just as long as they are free (and legal). |

Don't have a lot of choice: Amazon.
Most of the others either have hardly a selection I can or want to buy (Fictionwise, Smashword) or outright stop me from buying (B&N, Sony). |

I get most of my ebooks from Amazon. First of all I have a Kindle 3 and Amazon not so coincidentally has books in the proper format for my reader and secondly I have managed to collect a lot of free books of different fiction genre's as well as some interesting non-fiction books from there thanks to the Indie book posting here at MR. Of course I do get some of my books elsewhere (including right here at MR) but Amazon is still the biggest source for books for me.

Book on Board for me, then The Black Library (I'm a massive Warhammer 40k fan!), then Baen.
Waterstones and WHSmith if I can't find what I'm looking for elsewhere. |

I buy my e-books from baen, occasionally from BoB. Webscriptions website could use a facelift, but the prices are right and the service is excellent.

I live in the sticks. I looove being in a bookstore, but the closest one is over an hour away, and it's a B&N so I have to pay extra for the books. (Membership isn't worth it... it's over an hour away.) And for this reason, I love Amazon.

You know B&N has a web store, right? Just like Amazon, you can order paper books from B&N online and they'll ship them to you, and their membership stuff actually applies to online purchases as well (it's similar to Amazon Prime in that regard). No benefit for ebooks, though, which is all I buy from B&N and why I don't pay them for a membership.

My prefered choice is ebooks.com. The selection is quite good, and getting better as more titles are made available for those with geographical restrictions. My second choice would be Smashwords, because the books are cheap, and I'm not that picky when it comes to reading indie books, and so far, I do like most of the books I have bought from there. Makes for great reading variety.

Webscriptions.
Good reads, good prices, no DRM. And no Agency Model price-fixing. |

Zero votes for iBooks? Really? ![]() Is it really so bad even Apple fans won't stand up for it? Hello? Somebody? Explains a lot, then... |
