It would appear I read more into your original statement than you intended, and for that I apologise.

As one who is a regular traveller I consider myself an honest, honourable person, and was just a little put out to think that I would be viewed with distrust by locals. It seems you were referring to the location and not the people, my mistake.

And I am sorry for your loss, I understand you were only trying to make people aware of what can happen in the heat of the moment.

No worries, Ashjuk. Manhattan was founded by tourists and continues to be a city of tourists turned locals. As someone who grew up elsewhere, I count myself among them.

The only Americans who can call themselves indigenous and be correct about it are Native Americans.

A local comedian phrased it this way:

"The teacher said, Christopher Columbus was 'exploring' the world when he 'discovered' America. I said, teacher, if you believe that, then I was exploring your fire escape when I discovered your plasma TV!"

If, like me, yiou don't speak" legalese", check with your broker if you used one, or just ring the company .

I ran over my own newly purchased camera (don't ask !) and only "paid" my £50 excess, but got £270 towards the replacement - no increased premium (which is normal).
My home insurance policy has a $500 deductible for any claim. A new reader, even at the very expensive Canadian price of $199.99 is still cheaper than paying my $500 deductible. I don't need to speak legalese to know what my deductible is. Yes it certainly is worth checking out but I would think most home insurance policies have a deductible higher than $100 so there'd be no value in making a claim, just go buy the thing.
