Its very annoying. I don't want to be the kind of person who says "I want it now!" but I don't see how such a minor issue could have gotten through... or not fixed faster. The fact that many here have not gotten their subscription for a week or more is troubling.

Some clarity around whether place of purchase is a factor would be appreciated. Will the same thing be an issue for devices purchased from retailers other than Borders? Or will all U.S. devices be affected? If it's a Borders thing give folks the opportunity to return it before these guys shut down and purchase from another retailer (at a future time) when in stock.

I'm tempted to go the route that Jack took, and return it to Borders while their doors are still open.

If I can't get newspapers and magazines on the device (which is clearly a feature), then why should I keep it? Am I supposed to just shrug off the fact that within Library, "News and Mags" don't apply to me. I didn't get a discount on the device as compensation for features that aren't available to me.

I was hoping the issue would be fixed in the latest firmware update but still no magazines on my KT. This is a huge bummer.

Now my KT is working at 100%. I have my fonts, magazines,side loaded books treated as equals to their KePub counterparts, and the confidence in a company that really is there for their customers. Kobo has earned my loyalty and the KT is definitely my favorite ereader.

I just wanted to publicly thank mdclements for his solution. This has solved my problem, and I am very happy.

The device did update firmware, and I hope that doesn't break what he fixed!
