I just bought a Pocket Edge and planned on getting in on the froyo beta, now I read these posts and are you saying I just bought a boat anchor? It shows up tomorrow from Amazon, and if it's really the case that the company is tanking, then I'll send it back.

We know only that enTourage has gone through two major restructurings in the past four months, losing a lot of staff in the process. We don't know if they'll emrge from this in tact.

Oh no, don't do that; there is nothing else on the market like it. If you got it at the $200 price you got a killer deal.

In my opinion, it is the best ereader! If you want, you have just a plain old ereader. If you want, you have a lot more functions to go with your reading. If you want, you can read on the tablet side instead. And if you get tired of reading, there's plenty else to do with your handy-dandy PE.

Fotoguy42, welcome to the Forum! You will ADORE your Edge! Enjoy it!
We may seem to be a bunch of slightly obsessed people here, but don't take too seriously the delirious part of our posts. You may fall into this place and read the procedures day to day with adventurous eyes, as if reading and experimental loop installation with recurrent themes, a collective real-time novel in progress, an aggregated diary by passionate people who have let the Edge thing go too far in their lives (but it is all about desire, challenge and enthusiasm, it doesn't hurt anyone too much), a very, VERY efficient user guide with collateral effects, fun and sidetracks, all covered with chips of half gossip- half detective- inquisition about the destinies of this elusive, strange company, Entourage. And all along, they (the Entourage) choose to remain silent, move a Tower or a Knight from time to time, throw one of their Gladiators to the arena or to the afterlife when things get bored, and observe us all behind a one-way mirror. No, sir, you will not be bored here. The ingredients of this cake are mystery, but the cake is not a lie. |

After getting 80% of money back from Amazon, I ordered the ASUS T101MT: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004I1J7VA. Comes with Windows 7 Pro and 250GB HDD. I plan to run Android on it via VirtualBOX. Has a resistive touch screen. It arrive tomorrow. Will let folks know how it compares w/ my 4 months experience w/ EE.

Looks pretty cool, Attila! But I would miss the e-ink.
Hope it works out for you. Do let us know, and if you don't like it you can always come back to the eDGe.

Hi all. I am new PE user (and yes, this is my first post in this forum, though I've been a voyeur for sometime
) and still in a delirium happy state -say, mediocre acid experience or what have you - with it. I received my PE two days ago. Got it for 140 usd (take that you overpriced e-ink/tablet!), used like new condition from amazon (still could not find a way to re-registered it under my name, but I think I will browse myself this forum for some answer ). My partner got an Ipad2, toy with it for a while, hate it for I am an addict scribbler. I toyed with xoom and all, tablet wise, and also e-ink devices like nook or prs950. Tell you the truth, PE was never my option. I saw it laggy in eink journal writing (based on someone's review in youtube). I've also heard that the EE company is bailing out, which is still a bit scary in terms of future technical assurance. For the past two months, I crave for EEE note (I hope this indicates how much I am into scribbling). I am in fact part of those people commenting for the ugly Asus PR job for the EEE note, banging their door for the exact release date. In fact, as I decided to have it a go with PE, I still reserve my plan the plan to purchase EEEnote. Cut the story short; as soon as got my PE, toy with it for while, I decided to install maplepaint, then my EEE note plan is in my trash bin. Have you all seen how EEE scribbling works in some review? It's surely very interesting, if you have not used the maplepaint on lcd part of the PE. (I even havent use, as Boris have suggested, app such Thinking Space or BI note). I compare my experience w/ maplepaint, with those scribbling preview of EEE note. Please bare in my mind that EEE note is black and white lcd; compare that with PE color lcd; EEE note is having a problem with its browser, compare that with PE browsing experience. Aside from this (I know I should have asked the following question in another thread; my beginner status hopefully deserves a beginner mistake ) Is anyone find it strange that this very useful pro-student/writer/organizer gadget lack good market reception? Everyone in gadget world seems very much obsessed in search for "the true productivity tools that is not merely a entertainment-gadget" (according to endgadget), yet the hype is mostly for the speed and power, lightness, thinness etc. I had my answer for my need, and I plan to stick with it.
